November 16, 2024
16:30 - 18:30
KATHONA YOGA In this 2-hour workshop with Katonah Yoga® teacher Isabelle Stüssi, you will experience hip asanas in a new way using the Katonah Yoga® method, which also allows you to approach more complex hip exercises, such as lotus, with clearer and more pragmatic techniques and make them more accessible. The credo "works smarter, not harder". We view the body as a map. We use the inherent geometry and patterns in our body as orientation points for alignment. In doing so, we discover new ways to break down more complex hip asanas and make them more approachable. You can expect a playful hip sequence, a short introduction to Katonah Yoga® methodology as well as hands-on adjustments and group work. Suitable for all levels. Katonah Yoga was developed over 40 years ago by Nevine Michaan in New York. Based on classical Hatha Yoga, paired with the philosophy of Daoism, geometry and architectural approaches for the alignment of body and mind with the aim of living life with ease and joy. AYURVEDA WORKSHOP Immerse yourself in the world of Ayurveda and learn how to integrate spices into your everyday life according to the principles of Ayurveda in this inspiring workshop with experienced Ayurveda counsellor Isabelle Stüssi from ISLA Yoga & Ayurveda. After an exciting insight into the theory, we will create a soothing winter spice blend together. This blend will not only boost your immune system during the cold months, but you can also take it home with you as a special give-away.
Isabelle is a holistic Ayurveda health counsellor and yoga teacher. Her passion is to teach yoga and Ayurveda in a modern and accessible way so that people can find their way back to their personal rituals of self-care and learn to create islands of retreat for themselves on a regular basis. Through her family in Mauritius, Isabelle Stüssi was introduced to the world of spices, yoga and rituals at an early age. She has been drawn to the world of spirituality and mysticism for as long as she can remember. She has been studying and practising yoga and Ayurveda for over 20 years and has been teaching for over a decade. Until recently in her own studio, Studio Yogisi in Switzerland. Isabelle teaches a dynamic style of yoga that is strongly influenced by the Katonah Yoga® method. She lives in Mallorca and regularly offers Ayurveda consultations, private classes, workshops, intensive programmes and retreats.

Adventurous, open hearted and passionate, Anne’s ‘why’ is to foster space for others so they can show up to the world as their best selves. A professed anatomy nerd, trained therapeutic yoga specialist and mindfulness teacher, she is an advocate for movement, mental health and kindness. Through her work as a full-time yoga and meditation teacher, she’s taught over 4,500 hours across yoga studios, business offices, schools and universities. She is also the founder and director of Bubble Yoga studios & academy. Inspired by a variety of influences, her classes focus on how the way we move and breathe on our mat can translate into our everyday actions. Anne's teachings aim to inspire others to believe in their own capacity to grow and know themselves, to find a sense of home and meaningful connections through Community. She believes in and commits to ‘Yoga for All’.
LET IT FLOW What if we could go beyond the individual shapes and let movement, breath, music and Community lead us to a state of meditation in motion? Can we be in the midst of action & cultivate quietness within? Or be in the stillness of the body & observe the fluctuations of the mind & breath without needing to interfere? This class is an invitation to go with the flow of what is, to be present with yourself, others & the surrounding space. Opening meditation, creative Vinyasa flow & a soothing relaxation will be the ingredients of this journey together, supported by carefully curated music. ROLL & RELEASE Ever heard of fascia or myofascial release (MFR) and been intrigued about what it is? Simply put, this web of tissue around your body's muscles/bones/organs can tighten due to stress or poor posture. In this session, explore simple MFR techniques to restore mobility, release tensions and enhance overall well-being. This is your self-care practice - a chance to connect with your body, explore its potential and embrace deep nourishment through slowing down, feeling and breathing deeply.

In a world where we are constantly distracted and bombarded with information, it is sometimes difficult to get back to our centre. In this two-hour practice we will discuss the psychological relevance of yoga and then practise a wide range of yoga exercises: standing asanas, twists, hip openers, but also inversions and backbends. With the help of detailed instructions, dedication and humour, we will be given the chance to distance ourselves from our noisy heads, narratives and egos and find our way back to our inner strength. 14:00 - 16:00
KARMA - what goes around comes around? Karma has become a household term. But what does karma really mean? In this reading, we look at various aspects of the teaching of karma and, above all, its relevance and practical application in our yoga practice and everyday life. We will discuss what types of karma there are and what karma yoga is. This much in advance: Karma is not a cosmic punishment system, but rather a sensitivity training that enables us to go through life more consciously. BACK TO THE FUTURE - freeing the psoas The psoas (hip flexor) is also known as the fight and flight muscle. It contracts when we feel threatened or stressed. Releasing tension in the psoas can therefore also mean that we can let go of anxiety and stress at the same time. The psoas is also important when we practise backbends. In backbends, we open the whole front of the body. This is associated with the future and the unknown. The unknown in particular often scares us. Backbends help us to look and walk forwards with an open heart (with courage). Translated with DeepL.com (free version)

Sabina & Jan
November 16, 2024
16:30 - 19:00
November 17, 2024
08:00 - 10:30
Jan has been studying various ways and methods to lead a healthy, strong and happy life for over 20 years. He used to be a marathon runner and climbed 800 metre walls and was looking for a challenge. Skydiving and extreme sports also gave him the feeling of being alive. He also increasingly gained experience in transformative processes such as sweat lodges, fire walking, breath work and experience-orientated therapy "Bonding" according to Dan Casriel. Jan works full-time as a management consultant. Ice bathing and breathwork give him vitality today. Breathing techniques and exposure to the cold are part of his everyday life. Jan lives with his family in Buchs. After studying Traditional Chinese Medicine (University of Basel), Sabina worked for several years as a therapist in her own practice in Zurich. She completed her yoga teacher training in the USA, India, Munich, Zurich and Weggis. In recent years, she has combined life's impulses with yoga practice with joy and gratitude. Sabina would also like to pass on these processes of inner change in her yoga classes. Her many years as a TCM therapist in acupuncture, medicinal therapy and nutritional science are powerful sources of inspiration in her teaching. Sabina has been running her own yoga studio in the Zurich Unterland since 2015.
In this workshop, Jan & Sabina will share powerful sources of inspiration from breathing techniques, ice bathing and hatha yoga, which can touch us in an immediate way. We will experience how cold exposure, breathing techniques and yoga can positively influence mental and physical strength. We learn to reflect on the content on a deeper level and to call up this experience in crucial situations in everyday life and allow it to take effect. Jan offers theoretical insights into the processes that take place in our bodies during ice bathing and teaches a breathwork sequence in preparation. Then, under the professional guidance of Jan and his team, we will get into the cold water together and experience ice bathing. We promise you that it will be an unforgettable experience! Sabina will then take up Jan's themes in her practical yoga sessions and use the tools of hatha yoga and meditation.

GENTLE FLOW, DEEP RESTORATION; AN YOGA NIDRA WITH SOUND This nurturing and restorative yoga class is designed to help you unwind, release tension, and cultivate deep relaxation through a blend of gentle movement, guided meditation, and sound healing. Starting with a slow and mindful gentle flow, we move through simple, accessible postures that gently open the body and promote mobility without strain. This will be followed by a deeply restorative practice, incorporating supported poses and long-held stretches that encourage relaxation and the release of physical and mental stress. As we transition into Yoga Nidra, or “yogic sleep,” you will be guided into a state of profound relaxation where the body rests while the mind remains deeply alert. This practice fosters healing on a subconscious level and helps release deep-seated tension, allowing for mental clarity and emotional balance. Throughout the session, the soothing vibrations of sound will help clear energetic blockages, calm the nervous system, and create a harmonious environment for deep rest. YIN YOGA & YOGA NIDRA Yin yoga has become very popular in recent years. The great attraction of this yoga path is mainly due to the fact that it offers such a simple and direct way to calm down and find yourself. In a world where speed and pressure to perform are increasing rapidly, this is a real boon for body, mind and soul. On a physical level, pressure and traction on the meridian pathways calms the nervous system and stimulates the function of the internal organs. Adhesions and hardenings in the connective tissue can be loosened. On a mental level, we can become more aware of our thought patterns and dissolve old beliefs. On an emotional level, long pent-up emotions can be released. This brings us into a deeper connection with ourselves and the source of all being. We regain a sense of why we are here and what our personal mission in life is. In Yin Yoga, we have the opportunity to recognize the meaning behind everything and make peace with ourselves and our life situation. Eight out of ten working people now have sleep problems and stress is a widespread phenomenon. Yoga Nidra is one of the best remedies for this. Yoga Nidra is a deep relaxation technique that is performed while lying down. Yoga Nidra allows us to relax deeply and sustainably, bringing body, mind and soul into a state of calm and regeneration. At the same time, yoga nidra acts like a reset: we can let go of the old and recharge our batteries. Yoga Nidra can eliminate sleep disorders and fatigue, helps with tension and many other physical symptoms, strengthens concentration and performance and lifts the mood. I experience Yoga Nidra time and again as a fountain of youth and a source of joy and inspiration. Yoga Nidra helps us to go through the day in a much more relaxed, refreshed and present state, making it easier to master life's challenges.
